Within its Industrial Products Division, ICL Japan is expanding its reach in the flame retardants market, particularly across the electronics and electric vehicle (EV) sectors. This is a rare opportunity for a commercially driven and technically savvy sales leader to shape market strategy, manage customer relationships, and spearhead new growth initiatives in Japan.
This role will appeal to a dynamic professional who combines business development acumen with a technical background and strategic mindset. You’ll lead local market expansion while working across a global matrix to bring innovative solutions to life.
Responsibilities
· Customer & Account Management
o Maintain and grow key customer relationships in the flame retardants segment
o Ensure continuity and satisfaction in existing commercial engagements
o Represent ICL as a trusted partner across industry forums and technical discussions
· New Business Development
o Identify new opportunities in high-growth applications such as EV and electronics
o Conduct research to understand emerging needs, trends, and innovation gaps
o Build actionable business plans and lead their execution with cross-functional support
· Market Expansion Strategy
o Collaborate with sales, marketing, R&D, and production teams to develop go-to-market strategies
o Lead cross-disciplinary teams to evaluate and advance selected business cases
o Establish local partnerships and explore joint ventures or collaborative R&D initiatives
· Innovation & Pipeline Management
o Oversee the ideation, evaluation, and execution process for new product development
o Present investment proposals and manage projects from feasibility to launch
o Attend conferences and industry events to strengthen market visibility and insight
· Product & Competitive Intelligence
o Maintain strong knowledge of ICL’s industrial product portfolio
o Monitor market dynamics and competitor positioning to shape local strategy
Skills & Experience Required
· Minimum 5 years in business or market development, ideally in electronics or flame retardants
· Technical background in Chemical, Materials, or Electrical Engineering (highly desirable)
· Proven experience in sales, marketing, and cross-functional project leadership
· MBA or postgraduate business qualification (preferred)
· Track record of developing business plans and launching new products
· Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills
· Ability to manage multiple initiatives and global interfaces simultaneously
· Fluent in English with strong Microsoft Office proficiency
